2020 Geelong Pride Film Festival has been postponed

Following our statement about our planning and response to COVID-19 Coronavirus on 13/3/2020 we are confirming that the 2020 Geelong Pride Film Festival has been postponed.

We have made this decision for the health and safety of the whole community, and for the safety of our audience, volunteers and committee who are the heart and soul of our festival. There are a number of our GPFF family that are particularly vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19 so we know that this is the right decision.

In making this decision we have also consulted with local health services and our venues and sponsors. We are also taking into account state and Commonwealth health advice.

We would like to thank all our supporters and sponsors for your encouragement and understanding. We will continue to bring you the best LGBTIQ+ films as soon as we can and look forward to rescheduling later this year if possible.

We would like to thank all the filmmakers and we hope to showcase many of your significant films later in the year.

Ticketholders will be notified shortly regarding refunds.

Contingency for postponement or rescheduling
We will seek to reschedule screenings later in the year where we can. In some cases we may need to review screening content if the screening rights are not available or if films have already been given a broad release on streaming services.

For our short film packages these should remain unchanged and some of our feature films will also be available to rescreen.

Over the past 3 years we have screened 57 feature films, documentaries and short films and we remain committed to bringing you the best LGBTIQ+ content for years to come.
Rescheduled screenings could occur as a re-staged festival over consecutive days or we may present a series of screenings.
