Congratulations to Zino Bakker who is the inaugural winner of the Geelong Pride Film Festival Production Design Award. Zino's film Hartenprins (Prince of Hearts), is a visual feast that creates a near-future fantasy metropolis that could be any modern city. The film is a modern fairytale about the search for love and validation. Young man Philip inhabits a neon world where online dating leaves everybody drained.

The film is an ultimately uplifting story of the importance of self worth and love.

The award judging panel praised the winning film for its visual style, and for the evocative world that is created through the production design. The film is also recognised as a significant achievement as a graduating student project  (HKU - Utrecht School of the Arts), with Zino Bakker writing and directing the film in addition to the production design role.

The Geelong Pride Film Festival award for Best Production Design is an international award judged from a pool of over 50 short films featuring in this year's festival (14 April - 16 May). The Best Production Design Award is a prize recognising excellence in filmmaking and is awarded to a film demonstrating a significant achievement in production design.
